Four song 7" EP free with issue 17 of Misty Lane magazine
1966 live recordings from Rudi's first band.
Includes two originals, "They're Gonna Take You
Away" and "She's Got A..." which would later become
"It Came In The Mail" and "Brand New Man." Rudi later
released an entire CD from this live session, with
added bonus track, "Bandit," a live version of his
second band's only original (which later became
"Fabian Lips" by Tina Peel, and even later by The
Fuzztones as "Highway 69"), recorded in 1967. |

Misty Lane/Teen Sound
Features 18 mid-tempo cuts packed full of tuneful fuzz
and farfisa driven numbers.
Big thumbs up for the pre-Marshall Tucker Band, New
Generation's poignant
'68 cut "That's The Sun" and future Fuzztone Rudi
Protrudi's Rigor Mortis'
"Bandit" (which was in fact the prototype of the
Fuzztones' "Ward 81"). JOHN 'MOJO' MILLS, SHINDIG MAGAZINE |

4 song 7" EP - Dacoit / Limp 001
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's first (and only) Bubblegum
Punk band, featuring Rudi Protrudi and Deb O' Nair
before The Fuzztones. Recorded 1976 / released 1977.
"Pajama Party," "Punk Rock Janitor," "Fabian Lips"
and "Girl Talk."
Working from a a time-warped bag are Tina Peel, whose
debut EP is jointly issued by the local Dacoit and
Limp labels. Drawing heavily from late 60's pop-punk
outfits like the Cryan Shames and Buckinghams, T.P
have molded a record with silly, floozy...uh, teen
appeal.

Compilation LP by Limp Records (1978)
Compilation originally
released as vinyl LP by Limp Records in 1978.
Re-released on Henry Rollins' 2 13 61 label in 2004.
Includes Tina Peel's "Knockin' Down Guardrails."
What the hell is the perfect approach to this disk.
There was no such thing as a 'DC sound' in 1978,
although there was certainly a DC punk and new wave
scene, with new bands popping up weekly. This
compilation, originally released on Skip Groff's Limp
Records, is the proverbial kitchen sink, a blind man
at the jukebox. Twenty-six years on, Henry Rollins
(Inner Ear: State of Alert) has put '30 Seconds' back
in print on new label District Line. I've spent the
past few days listening to it repeatedly, and I've got
to say, this little sucker holds up pretty well. Tina
Peel provides a good party anthem in 'Knocking Down
Guard Rails'. SALON |

Teen Appeal 45 records 001 (1978)
An atrocious piece of crap about a "pet poodle who
went to doggie heaven by way of microwave oven."
played with minimal musical skill and imagination and
sung with the conviction of a deaf mute.

Teen Appeal Tapes 001 (1980) 5 song cassette only release.
There are only 5 songs on this tape, but hey, where
else can you find five different songs about the male
genitalia? All the songs are funny, but my fave is the
Miamis' "Wang It." I like these guys and the warped
sense of humor that pervades their upbeat, nearly
garage-type sound. What bad things can you say about
"Penis Between Us," "Blow Me (A Kiss)," "Exception To
The Ruler," "Wang It," and the exceptionally weird and
strange "Bent Nail Syndrome?"

Vinyl 12" LP - Misty Lane Records 061
Like messrs Connolly and Prevost, Rudi Protrudi was no
young kid on theblock when the garage revival came
into being. In fact, like his contemporaries he'd been
around the block a few times before he acquitted
himself to 1966 for eternity! Tina Peel, a band he
formed in 1977,
already aired influences of '60s teen-o-rama ala The
Raiders and Tommy Roes? There was a punk energy, but
in essence this
was uncomplicated melodic pop music. The band's bright
clothes also shunned the generation X outlook of the
punks. It's puerile, sure. But that was the point.
Like The Fleshtones,
this was seventies music that harked back to a time
that was seen as unhip. It wasn't for sometime that
Protrudi found his calling card, but this set of songs
do prove that he was ahead of the game of the revival.
And for that he must be praised.

Vinyl LP - Skyclad
Both the full-length German album and the eight-song
mini-LP (no overlap; the latter boasts a nutty live
version of "Batman") are the fun-filled results of an
informal 1986 session ans sound-thanks in no small
part to the genuine-article songs and properly
reverent originals-like long-lost Link Wray outtakes.

The Power trio of Rudi Protrudi, Mike Czekaj, and
Michael Jay have such explosive power to their guitars
and drums that this is like discovering rock 'n' roll
all over again! Turn the volume way up, past
distortion point, it doesn't matter, this is made to
be heard at painstaking volume. This is the real
growling guts guitar!

Full length vinyl & CD - Music Maniac (1994)
Inspired by the great exotic keyboard stylings of
Korla Pandit, as well as the sultry sounds of middle
eastern belly-dancing music, Link Protrudi & The
Jaymen explored vastly new ground with this sexodelic
1996 release. Very moody, trippy, and atmospheric,
with fuzz, twelve string, bongos, finger cymbals,
spooky organ, etc.

|
Full length CD - Get Hip (1998)
Set up as a side project to Rudi Protrudi and the
Fuzztones, this also functions as a tribute to Link
Wray and the Raymen, with no less than eight of the 23
tunes on here being Link classics. Covering everything
from "Mr. Guitar" and "Dinosaur" to the obvious
choices like "Rumble," "Jack the Ripper" and
"Rawhide," the trio also delivers Link-approved
originals in "Chicken Choke," "Avalanche," "Backfire"
and "Psyclone." Taken from the project's two vinyl
albums, Drive It Home and Missing Links, this is
straightforward, blast-it-out
live-in-a-four-track-studio raunch, devoid of all
subtleties. With that in mind, it sounds perfect,
totally faithful to the sound and style it's so
lovingly recreating here. A delicious alternative to
pseudo-surf bands.

Protrudi and Craig Moore - Misty Lane LP 012 LP
GONN's Craig Moore joins Italian garagesters The
Others on side one, and Rudi Protrudi joins on side
two. Released as vinyl LP in 1999.
Three generations of garagers in a whole album! Between classic covers (the subtitle is "A Garage Compendium") e "scoops" ( Craig Moore sings "Bad Little Woman","Can't Judge a Book" after re-viewing good part of his Gonn set , circa 1966 / 67 ) and Rudi Protrudi presents with The Others "the pebble" "Penis Between Us", his first original song from 1966! Pics, infos and funny stories complete the whole...definitely a record that'll become a "cult item" real soon!!!ltd 700! MISTY LANE P.R. |

Fishhead Records FCD 02142
Solo album by N.Y. Doll Sylvain Sylvain. Rudi
contributes backing vocals on the Pretty Things cover,
"I'm Your Man." "I'm Your Man" takes things into another realm: garage rock. It's no coincidence that Fuzztone Rudi Protrudi makes a guest appearance on backup vocals. This is the kind of thing that drives them bonkers at the annual Cavestomp in New York. JOE VIGLIONE, ALL MUSIC GUIDE |

Full length CD - Music Maniac Records (1994)
The first solo album from Fuzztones' frontman, Rudi
Protrudi, is quite a departure from the psychedelic
garage grunge that he's known for! Although Rudi
sneaks in the occasional fuzz box and combo organ,
this is hard-core Country, with stand-up bass, steel
guitar, acoustic and electric (Gretsch, baby!)
guitars, and that country twang you'd associate with
George Jones or Porter Wagoner. The songs are quite
twisted, and his versions of "Psycho" and "The First
Mrs. Jones," are actually quite chilling! Possibly the
first garage psych country crossover record! A masterpiece!

4 song 7" EP - Dionysus Records ID074553
Rudi Protrudi is the producer and it sounds a bit like
the old Fuzztones. High wall is the first track,
originally by The Debonairs. At first I didn't
recognize it because I thought it was the instrumental
version of the Fuzztones' She's wicked. Coincidence or
not, but the keyboard player on that Fuzztones song
was called Ded O'Nair. Track 2 is the Challengers'
K-39. On side B you'll find another cover, the
Victors' Bird walk and last track is an original
called Gyros-spazz. These are 4 great surf tunes and I
hope there's gonna be an album out soon.

Full length CD - Sin Records 026
Recorded in 1980, this collection of tracks by
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's first punk band sat in the
bassist's garage for 30 years, before Rudi secured it
(a reel tape in a box without the reel).
The Punk Rock Janitors were three guys who barely
graduated special ed in school, and a gal rhythm
guitarist who, in her early 20's, looked like a 13
year old hooker. How this motley crew ever learned to
play instruments, let alone write songs is one of
life's mysteries, but their tunes are melodic and
energetic. Thankfully, Danny Trash's lead guitar work
isn't hindered by any knowledge of musical theory,
scales or the like. Hence, some of the most "out
there" solos ever heard!
Included here, their original, "Just Once," which was
later rearranged and recorded by The Fuzztones.
